Auto and manual engines are exactly the same engine, it's only the flywheel/torque converter and flex plate that are different.
What part are you meaning?
There is a few parts to an EJ22 timing belt

What are we talking about?
Is it the bit that goes over the crank timing pulley that's fitted on manuals but not autos? _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.

Kewl. I'll add it to the sticky later as it does come up occasionally :-) _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.

I guess AUDM missed out on said timing scale piece.
I had a look around the yard yesterday at every EJ22 and EJ20 there manual and auto and they all had the timing scale as part of the main cover like mine

No J, it's not the outer cover.
It's a little curved plate that's situated over the toothed crank timing pulley - it sits approx 1.5 mm above it in the photo you posted earlier (it'd go between the belt and the sensor). It's fitted to manual engines & is there to stop the cambelt jumping between gear changes. But not fitted to auto donks
Can anyone post a picture to show the part please? _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.
