welcome
cant help directly myself but a few general pointers: read the conversion for dummies top right of the page. HAve a good look through others converts and posts of similar questions and if that doesnt do it then give us plenty of info about what you need to know...bus/bug/ year/ how far you want to go with conversion/ what engines you are considering/ budget etc etc
then im sure youll get plenty of help. |

what engine petrol or diesel? is the van irs'ed or straight axle'd? what you looking for from the van performance or economy? how are you at welding and general fabrication? there's quite a bit of welding and fab on mounts etc
i'd say the biggest 2 things that make or brake it will be the gearing and cooling system _________________ 1964 rat 13 window deluxe 1Z tdi,

Cool, i am about to IRS the van with a AT box and bus boys style clamps. I really want plain old economy with better reliability than my 1200cc lawn mower nugget. I'm ok with the fabbing side of things cus i'm a fitter by trade. |

| Yeh i would like to go down the 2 litre n/a scooby route. I would also like a very neat almost invisible install, i.e. no scooby dash or engine lid addaptations etc. |

2.0 subaru N/A motor will have plenty of power and torque for a split as they dont weigh a great deal and the at box should give a good cruising speed as regards cooling i would say dont have a rear/engine bay mounted radiator you will need fans running all the time at higher speeds eg motorway due to poor airflow put the rad under floor and duct it. i have a under floor rad on my split and the fans only switched on once all last year! _________________ 1964 rat 13 window deluxe 1Z tdi,

| Thats what i wanted to do with the rads, did you use any perticular radiators or did you have them custom made? Also wanted to ask, whats the deal with the vss? Where does it go? |

i used 2x mk2 golf gti radiators just because i had them spare so they cost nothing
i got a vss from rich jones (rjes subaru) for my tdi engine have a look on his website for details of what subaru engines needs the vss to be fitted (they fit in between the speedometer and speedo cable) _________________ 1964 rat 13 window deluxe 1Z tdi,
