Project: Full restoration of Mollie, the 69 Bay, hopefully to a high standard! Plans are to restore the body / chassis first with a minor engine and brake overhaul so I can actually use her, then a TDi conversion (VW) Full disc brake conversion (VW) and a custom interior! sounds like a plan!

I'm posting over on http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18404 for the restoration

converting my t25 from 1.6 air cooled to diesel engine out of vw caddy diesel box u/s using air cooled box for meantime engine up and running had to fabricate new gearbox mounting for 1.6 box as engine sits further forward modify cable clutch as its a left hand drive and servo wont fit used 1.9 exhaust manifold and grafted 1.6 diesel exhaust onto downpipe modified gear selector mix of petrol and diesel and the small bit of installing diesel wiring loom water pipes rad ! havent cut the front panel as i like the look of it with one grill so trial and error on the cooling front on the trial first run hell of a difference pulled up hill in fourth well it has had a 25% power increase not to mention extra torque got loads of pics if you wannahear it running you tube plug1002 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Doing this because: getting taken over by lorries all the time is frustrating. Taking 5 days to get to southern France to surf as well. Out with the AC, in with the power!

Progress: The Subaru is taken to pieces and will be shredded soon. A 091 transaxle is sitting snugly in my garage and so is the Scoobie engine. Loom needs to be sorted, RJES-bellhouse is considered to have shipped over.

Immediate action: still looking around for definite ideas about kooling, mating engine and transaxle, stripping loom. You'll be hearing from me soon!

Welcome Stieze (how do you pronounce that?)

Looking forward to the photos Happy

You won't go wrong with Rich's bellhousing but it's hard graft (chassis mods) getting it into a T2b.
Worth every penny though! Check out "my conversion" by me right at the end of "Scooby power"

Stuff France for a surf.... UK has some awesome spots. We also do nice pasties and beers Wink

Your experiences are worth shed loads to others, including the f'ups - live and learn.
Wouldn't YOU rather learn by someone else's mistakes? So would they.

'78 Bay, 2 litre 091 box, EJ20 NA & the ashtray's on the 'right' side.
I don't lean forward for hills any more Grin
Bugger, missed out on "Live fast, die young"
