HEADER TANK

NOT SURE WHERE TO PUT THE PIPES FOR MY CORSA TANK
I SWITCHED MY MANIFOLD AROUND AND IM DOING THE SAME WAY AS RICOLA WITH BMW TS BUT IM CONNECTING THE BOTTOM PIPE ON THE HEADER TANK TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE MANIFOLD AND NOT SURE ABOUT THE TWO PIPES ON THE TOP OF THE TANK ,WHERE DO I PLUMB THEM TO AND DO I ONLY USE ONE

Sure some one will be along with better advice but if it helps. I run a T25 header tank the lower pipe goes on to the the inlet on top of your reversed manifold. The other large header outlet goes into my heater circuit. If you are not running heating i would assume you would need to run some kind of return of the main large bore return from the radiator. The cap on a T25 header also has an outlet going to an expansion tank/filler tank. But i would suggest you may need to block the 3rd outlet off.

Is a Corsa header tank similar to those used in other Vauxhalls. I'm sure Elusive has runs a system using a Frontera one. If he can't help you i am sure he knows a fellow who can!

Hi elusive, thanks for reply. im using a bmw e30 stat same way as ricola only i have my tank connected to the other end of manifold (small heater outlet) and wanted to connect the top pipes on the top of tank somewhere .(im not connecting a heater now) i found ricolas site before this thats why i was using bmw stat. he suggested i use a flow through system . any chance you could draw me a simple diagram or give me a link just for connecting a tank with no heater. im scratching head at the mo and show season will be over before we know it

Sorry Grahame, I don't know how to plumb in a BMW stat. Most of us are running the stock Scooby stat with great success.

Draw yourself a diagram of how BMW etc would plumb their cooling, then modify it to suit your system.

Post a picture of the BMW stat and we'll have a look/think for you. It should be simple.

ok now im totally confused, maybe i'll scrap the new bmw thermostat and opel corsa tank and buy a subaru ej22 stat and t25 tank. just wondering do i buy an uprated stat and whats the handiest way to plumb it in without a heater for the moment sorry im much better at the body work than engines

found this for my na ej22 only i will try use my corsa tank and join the heater pipe like this and go back to an original stat or is there an aftermarket one thats better. what do you think lads

Found what? Can't see any attachments. Gerrelt's done some nice drawings on here of his Alfa setup on here. Have a quick search.
Maybe it'll mean you can keep your stat.
