|
|
| I'm looking to do a Subaru conversion on my underpowered 88 camper. However I want to make the figures work, so looking to sell the VW engine once I've got the bits. How much can I expect to get for a 1.9 water-cooled engine? It was a replacement for the original fitted by the previous owner so has only 20k miles and 4/5 years old. Any ideas or would a VW specialist want it? Thansk in advance. |

mmm, tricky question to be asked on here to be honest, seeing as most of us think they are a pile of shite/unreliable/in need of constant tinckering/slow/under powered/ delete as appropriate.
vw specialist will want to rob you, private buyer who is handy with spanners......as a complete package i would say....£anywhere between £600 and £900 but the markets so variable. |

BUT (notice it's a big but) some people want to convert their bugs to a Veedub water cooler as it's cheap on the insurance.
Drop Ian Ambrose a message on VZ or post on alt engine on therei. Ian posts on here, occasionally
You won't regret a scooby, lovely acceleration, reasonable mpg.... but your insurance will go up.
