fuel lines???

I have my subaru engine in the car i need to post up some pics. I am at the point that i need to run my fuel lines and am unsure if i need to make any modifications to my factory fuel tank? the car is a 73 super beetle. help

stock outlet may not be big enough depending on engine, you will also need return and vent connections fitting. I would fit swirl pot and pump internally too...

i have the ej25 dohc engine and i am using an inline fuel pump, I don't have a fuel tank yet. I will order one soon, the one that came with the car is rusted out to badly. thanks for the advice Cool

i welded the whole subaru pump and flange into mine (van tank) which will give you all the pipes you need. I bought a donor subaru tank complete with everything for £50. Dont forget to baffle the inside of the tank as well if you do this.

Once all the mods were done I used the Frost fuel tank lining kit to seal it all up again and protect the tank for future.

When I see this, maybe I should cut out the fuel pump fro my old Legacy before I send it to the wreck yard...
Short question (my donor car is 140 k's away, I can't have a look), how difficult is it to rip of the fuel tank on the Subaru?

in a legacy i dont know - but in an impreza it was a bit of a pain! as the donor for my tank was a 4wd I had to remove the prop shaft to get it out ! That said i was in a scrap yard with very few useful tools with me, it was raining and the whole car was balancing on a few tyres! so it made it harder than it really was!!!

If your car is near an electricity supply I would get the grinder or air hacksaw out an go at it from above. Or if yours is a 2wd then it will be easy.

ej22 sohv 1991, in a bug? i have a stock tank with a return line i added.
no internal swerl pot.

sven my legacy had the prop running under the tank too, if you cut out the top of the tank you could use a largish chisel to cut the bottom of the tank out

Weird, I dismounted the pump long time ago, more or less a couple of weeks after my first post (which is a year ago...). The weird thing is that it was very easy, I only had to remove the carpet in the trunk and the floor was really easy to remove as well.
Took me less than 10 minutes to get the pump out. Happy
