Is there a definitive parts list for fitting the AAZ into a bay ?
I've stripped a MK3 golf down and kept the loom, fusebox, dash, ignition switch, radiator and exhaust system just in case I need anything.
I'm guessing I need a T25 bellhousing to fit to the 1600 bay gearbox ?

I just want to get everything together first so it's off the road for the least amount of time

cheers

theres a good 'how to' over on the brick yard site in their tech section - although it relates to T25s its essentially the same parts.

thats the one....in the tech section you will find various posts relating to this conversion tho so also worth a search (probably some from me too from when i converted a t25 a while back!)

From memory the essential bits youll need will be the t25 wedge sump, matching oil pump - the rest you can make/ use or modify the AAZ donor parts.

If you do decide to stick with T25 stuff then JX engine mounts, & a longer oil return for the turbo if you use the t25 JX exhasut and turbo manifold will be required.

you can use a t25 Diesel bellhousing or Kennedy do an adaptor plate.

I've nearly got everything together, the lawn mower came out today
a couple more questions though
1. Which clutch do I use ? AAZ or bay ?
2. T25 bellhousing. Can I used the golf starter in it ?
3. How do I mount the bellhousing after I've taken the support bracket out ? I see 13 window deluxe's one in the pic with it out but no mention or pic of how he mounted it after then

Hello,
1. I used the JX clutch and Flywheel.
2. You can use the T25 starter when you lift the tank and make a cutout for the magnetic switch / solenoid. The better way is to go for the golf mk3 TDI starter (2KW). YouŽll have to fab an adaptorplate to use it.
3. There is no need for a mounting. Compare it to a T25 Diesel.

1. I haven't got a JX engine
2. I haven't got a T25 either, maybe I'll adapt the TD golf one
3. I'll try and find a pic of a T25 diesel gearbox somewhere Happy

1. Neither! you need to use the t25 diesel clutch setup

2. The golf starter can be used on the t25 bellhousing but you need to make a starter adaptor plate see my tdi bay thread

3.the engine mounting bar holds the engine up and the gearbox front mount holds the gearbox up, you dont have a centre mount anymore just like in a diesel t25 hence why the diesel t25 bellhousing doesnt have centre mounting lugs
